On November 12, 2022, Toyota revealed an image of the front of the brand-new Prius. It has a lower and wider stance than the current model of the car, and its headlights give a sneak peek into how the vehicle’s look is much more stylish. As of November 14, 2022, there was another update of more images released from Prius. There was also an announcement for more information about the global reveal.
On Tuesday, November 15, at 11:30 pm Eastern time, even more information on the U.S.-spec car was announced on Wednesday, November 16, via live stream. It has been a long time coming for the redesign of the Toyota Prius hybrid, and these new teaser photos have customers sitting on the edge of their seats with excitement. Some images were shared on Toyota’s Japanese social media and have called the Prius “Hybrid Reborn.” The meaning behind this is that this new model is Toyota’s original hybrid hatchback.
This will be Prius’s fifth generation, and the car’s shape will hopefully have some new detailing. There is a sneak peek of an image for a headlight shot, which looks a lot like other Toyota concept-designed cars, including some of Toyota’s new EV concepts.
There have yet to be exact details released about the Prius’s new hybrid powertrain, but it looks like it will have a higher fuel economy than the current model, which has an EPA rating of 56 mpg total. The Prius Prime plug-in hybrid will likely come back, and the hope is for a bigger battery pack to increase electric-only range similar to the outgoing car’s 25-mile range on a fully charged battery. The design of the 2023 Prius will be sportier and have improved tech features, and it will go on sale sometime in the first half of 2023.
