A New Toyota Electric Concept Van Is On Its Way
Toyota is ready to embark on a new adventure and different style for a brand new electric concept van. This new vehicle will be called Kayoibako which is a smaller boxy van and can be mainly used for moving cargo. A cool perk of this electric van is that it is customizable which means buyers can install shelves or it can be transformed into a bus.
The Kayoibako will be smaller than the typical U.S. minivan, for comparison, it will be a foot shorter than the Chrysler Pacifica. It seems that shortly we will see more of these style vehicles turn electric and even though this new van will have a more funky style, it doesn’t mean it won’t be snatched up by consumers.
Toyota EV-Only Platform
To cut production costs and improve on the competition, Toyota Motor Corporation plans to make an EV-only platform. The need for this comes from Toyota’s decision to start mass-producing EVs and wants to get ahead of the game because they know there is a high demand for electric vehicles. Toyota is taking the EV competition seriously and is ready to take on Tesla.
Since Toyota made its first high-volume car model, the bZ4X SUV, it has altered its TNGA modular ICE platform for the bZ4X instead of making an EV-only structure. This new platform will have more space and be flat, giving designers more room for where to put the batteries. The EV platform should be made in the next few years but is expected between 2027 and 2028. For now, Toyota will keep producing electric vehicles quickly and remain at the top of its game.
2023 Toyota bZ4X
Introducing the 2023 Toyota bZ4X, which is Toyota’s first fully electric vehicle, and people are super excited about it! This is a five-passenger car and thrives on how spacious the inside is. From an outside view, the exterior design is sleek, stylish, and modern. The starting rate of this new model is $42,000 (plus destination fee). This electric SUV has five different exterior colors: Wind Chill Pearl, Supersonic Red, Heavy Metal, Elemental Silver Metallic, and Black.
The 2023 Toyota bZ4X has made it easier to store the cargo cover when it’s not being used. This comes in handy when the back is full and there is no time to try and maneuver things around. All that needs to be done to store the cargo cover is lift the lid covering the back and slide the cover into the spot designed for it. There is no need to try and cram the cover into a space that could damage it or stress out the person attempting to put it in.
Just in case the information above isn’t convincing enough that this EV is an amazing car, here are a few more reasons that might be convincing. The electric engine gets 201 horsepower and 196 lb-ft of torque in the front-wheel-drive model. There is a 12.3-inch touchscreen that comes with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa Connectivity.
