The 2025 Toyota 4Runner Is Almost Here

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner is ready to show off its sixth generation model and customers are beyond excited. The 4Runner SUV gets a new design that looks a lot like the Tacoma model; like its larger tires, its extra width because of its fender flares and all its buttons and switches inside the interior. As for the interior, there is a 14-inch touchscreen on some of the trims that include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

The 2025 4Runner’s base engine is the 2.4-liter i-Force, a turbocharged inline-four that produces 278 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. Unfortunately, the exact cost of this very anticipated SUV is still unknown but the long wait for this vehicle will be well worth it. Let’s dive into the 2024 models to see what capabilities may carry over to the 2025 models. 

2024 Toyota 4Runner

The 2024 Toyota 4Runner is the rugged SUV that customers have been waiting for with its major redesign. Under the hood is a 4.0-liter V-6 engine and a 5-speed automatic transmission that produces 270 horsepower. The starting price for this new SUV is $41,600 (plus destination fee) and can get up to $56,565 (plus destination fee) depending on the trim level. 

This SUV has a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs which is more than its competitors like the Ford Edge and Jeep Wrangler. As for the interior, there is an 8.0-inch touchscreen with physical buttons, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 15-speaker JBL audio system. A few of the safety features include forward collision warning, automated emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, plus so much more. 

2024 Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter 

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma officially debuted in Hawaii, and it’s already tearing up the streets. Toyota has revamped the design for the 2024 Tacoma lineup and has recently added a new trim called the Tacoma Trailhunter. The Trailhunter trim can easily handle any off-road adventure and has impressive capabilities. This new trim has a Double Cab with either a 5- or 6-foot bed, is hybrid-powered only, and gets 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. It rides on 18-inch bronze-colored rims and has strong wheel skid plates to improve protection. 

As for the interior, there is a 12.3-inch gauge cluster, a 14-inch touchscreen, plus heated and cooled front seats. Safety features include lane departure warning, road sign assist, proactive driving assist, radar cruise control, and more. Every hybrid-powered iForce Max Tacomas will go on sale in 2024, including the impressive Trailhunter trim. Until the Trailhunter trim hits local dealerships, the Tacoma TRD Pro or the Tacoma Off-Road is another excellent option. 

2025 Toyota Land Cruiser

The Toyota Land Cruiser in the U.S. was discontinued in 2021, but Toyota is bringing it back for a 2025 model. The new Land Cruiser model will be very different from the last one and will have a lot of new and updated features. With its boxy SUV style, the 2025 Land Cruiser will look like the 2024 Lexus GX. The GX’s Overtrail trim will carry over some Land Cruiser TRD Pro trim level features, including its bulky tires and locking disparity. 

If the U.S. is lucky enough to get the Land Cruiser Prado, it will likely have the same powertrain as the GX. This means sharing a twin-turbo 3.4-liter V-6 engine, producing 349 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque as the Lexus model. It seems that the new Land Cruiser will have a third row of seats, and the wait shouldn’t be much longer since it won’t be debuted until 2024.
